A new collaboration between Harris & Harris and Diespeker & Co

Interior and product design studio Harris & Harris has teamed up with Diespeker & Co to create a contemporary family of tables, launching this autumn.

The tables are available in a wide choice of materials from our range of marble, granite and terrazzo, including bespoke terrazzo.

The collection is called REVERSIBLE. It includes a coffee table, side table and console family produced in two contrasting stones which can be flipped over and turned around to reveal a totally new look. This allows the owner to change the feel of their space by simply moving the tables – although some manual help may be required as the tables are particularly sturdy and heavy.

Harris & Harris Creative Director, Alexander Harris said: “I was inspired by reversible clothing such as ski jackets that allow the user to switch between different looks or colours.

“I thought it would be a cool idea to create the same flexibility in a piece of furniture.”

Harris & Harris also considered the sustainable elements of the design, as with all products originating at the studio. Alexander added: “The way the tables are constructed and the materials we’ve used mean these tables will last a lifetime. As for which material customers opt for, we recommend terrazzo for its recycled content to minimise the impact on the environment.”

The clean lines of the design and almost limitless combination of stones mean the tables will suit a wide variety of interiors.

Diespeker MD John Krause said: “When we first saw Alexander’s designs, we were very impressed and excited; they really do give customers an extra level of flexibility and the option to freshen up an interior simply by turning the furniture around.

“It’s a real joy to see our materials used so imaginatively; we can’t wait to have some of these tables in our own offices.”

We have previously worked with Harris & Harris providing stone for several projects, and with Alexander when he worked for David Collins Studio. The Harris & Harris studio is based only a mile from our premises. “Their proximity is convenient for us,” explained Alexander. “It’s so rare to have the opportunity to visit a manufacturer in London – normally we have to travel across the UK or to Europe for our projects. The Diespeker team are so helpful and John’s enthusiasm for the project has been fantastic. This collaboration fits our ethos of producing in Britain whenever possible.”

REVERSIBLE will join the recently launched Diespeker Living brand and website and will be added to the Harris & Harris Collection alongside their furniture and lighting ranges, which have been growing steadily since launching in 2016.

The REVERSIBLE tables will be seen for the first time at the Independent Hotel Show at Olympia on October 15 and 16, where Harris & Harris will use the tables in ‘The Conscious Hotel Bedroom’, a 55 sqm hotel suite designed and curated by the studio that will showcase a luxurious yet environmentally and socially conscious design.
