Pushing terrazzo skills to the max in Mayfair

London terrazzo expert, Diespeker & Co achieved innovative design solutions for flooring and stairs during a recent refurbishment of a Mayfair boutique for fashion brand J&M Davidson. Working with the project architects, Barber and Osgerby’s Universal Design Studio, the company developed new skills resulting in the seamless matching of cement-based and resin-based terrazzo on both timber and concrete substrates. From the start, the architects were keen to work with muted […]

Terrazzo across the world

Our travelling MD, John Krause, recently flew to Australia to visit family (and take part in a marathon in New Zealand while he was there, of course). During his travels, John came across an intricately designed terrazzo floor in a shopping mall in Perth. “I was thrilled to see these designs – wonderful inlays and clever patterning. It shows what can be done with terrazzo. “In addition, it reinforces my

Cool terrazzo vibe for Cubana

It’s not just the large projects that give us the chance to show off our skills with terrazzo. Smaller projects, too, can provide the chance for creativity and flair. Diespeker recently delivered a unique logo design that’s being set into the entrance flooring of the Cubana restaurant in Smithfield. Cubana, as the name suggests, has its roots in the Cuban culture, serving Cuban style dishes including Camarones Criollos and Bistec

Multi stone combination for private residence

Diespeker has recently completed a mixed materials commission for a private residence in Westminster. The project included 70m² of our standard range terrazzo in Botticino (TE005). One interesting feature of the flooring for this project was a specification for no joints, so the terrazzo was poured in situ. In addition, the Bottocino marble aggregate within the traditional cement based terrazzo was over-sized with chippings of 15-25mm where usually the aggregate

Diespeker & Co worked with London interior design team Shai Akram and Andrew Haythornthwaite to create unique terrazzo for various elements of a major nightclub refurbishment. The Escape Club in Brighton was synonymous with the 1980s electronic dance movement, being one of the first venues to bring it to the UK.
