Origin Coffee is an ethical brand with a direct trade to coffee sourcing. The company sells coffee, provides training courses and has a number of retail coffee shops in Cornwall and London.
Diespeker became involved in the most recent coffee shop build in Southwark, in Scoresby Street. The shop is located in the characterful railway arches close to Southwark Station, giving a great design feature for design company Hart Miller Design to work with.
Diespeker became involved via refurbishment and fit out contractors, BB Contracts and was asked to provide three terrazzo slabs for the bar front. The Hart Miller team knew they wanted to use terrazzo but weren’t sure which design to choose. Diespeker MD John Krause arranged for a variety of samples to be sent to their Cornwall office for consideration.
Sophie Chapman from Hart Miller said: “John handled lots of different decision changes for the application well; we were sure we wanted to use it, no matter which capacity we ended up deciding on.
“Diespeker provided new quotes promptly and with added advice each time until we decided on the three slabs for the bar front. The technical team were able to provide really insightful and helpful advice on fixing the terrazzo in our desired bar front application due to the weight, which was really appreciated.”
In the end, Hart Miller opted for standard terrazzo, TE007 which gives a stunning frontage to the bar.
