Adam Howard of Evonort was tasked with designing a new look for a kitchen in a traditional Victorian property in West Harrow. The property had not been given much love over the years, and the existing kitchen was cramped and drab, with a small window overlooking the garden.
As part of the refurbishment, Adam enlarged this window as well as the small dining room window in the dining room and opened up the area between the two rooms to create a lighter living space.
The clients were really keen on using green for the kitchen decor – and not just any green. Their preferred tone was a popping lime green, a very bold colour. The worktops needed to work with this strong statement colour. Adam and the clients looked at various ideas but when they saw Diespeker’s TE128 both agreed it was the perfect choice.
This resin terrazzo, from Diespeker’s Standard Plus range, adds both contrast and an eye-catching pattern to contrast with the bright green. The worktops include cut outs for hob and sink, and a pencil edge.
The vivid colours of the new kitchen juxtapose perfectly with the refurbished dining room which uses more classical, muted colours and lots of natural oak – with hints of the lime green in the lightshades over the dining table.
The clients were thrilled with their new kitchen, and really appreciative of Adam’s commitment to bringing vibrancy and fun to their home.
